Date Difference Calculator

Free time and date tool

Find the exact number of days and full weeks between two calendar dates.

How this tool works

Dates are compared at midnight in UTC, which prevents daylight-saving clock changes from adding or removing an hour. The start date is not counted; enable inclusive counting to count both endpoints.

Worked example

January 1 to January 31 is 30 elapsed days, or 31 days when both dates are included.

Frequently asked questions

Is the start date counted?

Not by default. Select inclusive counting to count both the start and end dates.

Do daylight-saving changes affect the result?

No. Calendar dates are compared in UTC rather than by local clock hours.

Can the end date be earlier?

No. Reverse the dates so the ending date is the same as or later than the starting date.
