A little reading, one day at a time. Make a clear, printable log that fits your family or a teacher’s assignment.
My reading log
Choose something interesting. Read with support when needed. This log records practice; it does not measure reading ability.
Use Letter or A4 paper. Choose landscape for more writing space when all optional columns are selected.
No account required. This tool keeps your entries in this browser tab and does not save them after a reload. Tool analytics, when enabled on this site, record actions such as creating or printing a result—not assignment text or reading-log entries. See our privacy policy.
How to use your printable reading log
- Choose the first day and a one-, two-, or four-week log.
- Add only the columns you will actually use. A goal is optional.
- Create the log, then print it or save it as a PDF from the print dialog.
- Write the book title and minutes after reading. Add a brief thought if you chose that column.
A simple example
Fictional entry: October 12 — “A book about ocean animals” — 10 minutes — “I learned how an octopus hides.” The minutes are an example, not a recommended target.
You can note the activity next to the title, such as “read together” or “listened.” Listening and reading printed words are different activities; follow the teacher’s requirements if this is a school log.
Does a missed day ruin the log?
No. Use it as a record, not a scorecard. Return to your routine and adjust it when needed. For ideas, read our reading motivation guide for parents.
Can I type entries into the log?
This version creates blank sheets for handwriting. It does not keep a student profile or save reading history. Print a new copy whenever you need one.
